The segments module allows you to see a table view of data from related objects, like opportunities, contacts, notes, tasks, and more.
Suggested uses
Consider the following use cases to empower your teams.
- Opportunity visualization: Display a table of your active opportunities with data like amount, type, stage, and probability
- CSM productivity insights: Highlight upcoming tasks that are flagged as high priority
- Customer highlights: Show off your most recent notes tied to customer testimonials
Add a segments module to a new or existing layout
You can add the segments module to any home or object-level layout that you own. Admins can add modules to all layouts.
- From the tree menu of any Home page or object level layout (account, opportunity, or contact record), click + New Layout to create a new layout from scratch, or click to edit an existing layout > Add Module.
- Enter a name for your new module.
- From the list of module types, click Segments.
- Choose the segment you want to use (or create a new one on the fly).
Available segment types vary, depending on the home or current object level. For example, you can't add account segments at the account object level; you can't add opportunity segments at the contact level, etc.
The segment preview appears on the right. You can also edit the segment from this window if you are the segment owner or admin.
- Click Add Module to add the module to the layout.
If you see a message within a module, there is a permissions issue with one of the fields used in the segment. Your Catalyst administrative team can update the permissions of your role settings.
- Click Save Changes to save the layout.
