Unsubscribe made easy
Admins now have greater control and compliance over email communications. Choose between Transactional or Marketing email types when designing playbook email actions.
💡 What's the difference?
- Facilitate an agreed-upon transaction or ongoing relationship, typically 1:1
- Contain essential information (e.g., password reset, invoice, renewal notice)
- Do not require unsubscribe links
- Promote products, features, or programs
- Contain non-essential information (e.g., product announcements, newsletter, events)
- Must include an unsubscribe option
✨ Designing the email
When building a playbook with an email action, "Marketing Email" is now selected by default:
"Marketing Email" types require you to add an unsubscribe element to the email design. If a recipient clicks Unsubscribe, Catalyst will automatically exclude that email address from future sends.

You can now view the percentage of unsubscribed users as an additional delivery statistic in your playbook email insights:

Within Settings, keep track of users that have unsubscribed from marketing emails sent via playbooks. Users can resubscribe themselves from the original email, or you can resubscribe on their behalf.
