Add customers to playbooks

Who can use this feature?

  • All roles with access level "standard" or higher
  • Available on all plans

Playbooks are pre-built workflows that automatically assign new tasks, send personalized emails, and update field values. When a customer qualifies for a playbook, typically based on custom criteria, Catalyst applies the automated actions and branching logic defined in the workflow. If the playbook creator allowed manual entry, you can add customers to a playbook on-the-fly—even if the customer doesn't meet the playbook entry criteria.

Admins can configure playbooks for your Catalyst instance in settings.

Manually add a customer to a playbook

  1. Open the object-level view (account, opportunity, contact, or additional).
  2. From the top bar, click the + > Add to playbook.

Alternatively, you can find this menu from a record within a segment module or a signals pop-up.

The Add to Playbook screen appears. Any playbooks applied to the selected record in the last 30 days are listed in the playbook history section.
  3. Click to select a playbook to apply.
Only enabled playbooks that are available for the selected object, not currently running for the selected record, and that allow manual entry appear in the list.
  4. Click Add.

The playbook branching logic begins. Playbooks run every 15 minutes; it may take several minutes for actions to be created.
