- Only roles with "standard" access level or higher can take action on a signal
- Available on all plans
Expansion signals provide notification when an account is ready for expansion, with the option to take action and resolve quickly.
Admins can configure expansion signals for your Catalyst instance in settings.
Where to find customer signals
You can view signals in several places within Catalyst:
- Signals modules: Add this module to a home or an account object-level layout.
-
Field module: Add the
[signal name]
field to a fields module on an object-level layout. -
Segments: Filter segments, add signal columns for
[signal name]
and[signal name Last Action]
, and and segment modules to home layouts. - Notifications: Receive in-app and email notifications when one of your customers is ready for a signal.
Track signal readiness
When a signal is ready, it's your cue to begin pursuing a potential opportunity.
- Ready: Meets all signal conditions (AND) or any of the conditions (OR)
- Not ready: Meets some but not all conditions (AND) or none of the conditions (OR)
Track signal readiness of all accounts
Within home layouts, the signals module allows you to see all accounts and their readiness for each signal.
The module groups accounts into categories for each signal:
- New: Ready but have not yet been actioned
- In progress: Had an action taken
- Resolved: Have been marked as resolved
- Not ready: Not yet ready but that you may want to keep an eye on and nurture to get ready
- Reminders: Have a reminder set denoting that action is paused for the timespan of the reminder
Track account readiness of all signals
Within an account layout, the signals module can be configured to view a specific account's readiness of all signals (summary):
View signal details
The signal details window shows signal name, last action, and conditions for the signal. Each metric includes target and current values.
- From within a segment, segments module, or signals module on a home layout or hover over the signal name, and click Details.
- From within a signals module (summary) on an account layout, hover over the signal name
- From within a signals module (details) on an account layout, hover over to view options
Take action on a signal
Actions allow you to initiate customer outreach to start the expansion conversations. Drive cross-functional collaboration between revenue teams to ensure clear roles and responsibilities for opportunity creation.
Actions
Available actions include:
- Add to playbook
- Create note
- Create opportunity
- Create task
- Other: Use for reporting purposes only; Catalyst does not perform these actions. Actions include: Discuss in upcoming sync, partner with sales, review account, schedule meeting, send email, or other.
- Set reminder: Choose to not immediately action the signal and be reminded in 7, 30, 60 or 90 days. The user who set the reminder will be notified in-app and by email once the reminder timeframe has expired.
Resolve
Resolving signals updates the signal status. Resolve the signal if:
- You've decided to not pursue the signal
- You've already completed work on the signal
View activity
Each time an action or resolution is applied on a signal record, Catalyst updates the [signal name] Last Activity
date. From the signal details, click View Activity to view a historical log each time this date was updated.
In order for action/resolution to record against the signal, you must act/resolve within the signal.
