Who can use this feature?
- All roles with access level "high"
- Available on all plans
The note and tasks objects are native to the Catalyst platform. You cannot set up a bi-direction sync for these objects between the Catalyst and Salesforce, but you can push notes and tasks records from Catalyst to Salesforce.
These records will appear in Salesforce as tasks in the activity feed with “Catalyst Note -” or “Catalyst Task -" prepended to the title.
Additional Salesforce data points like "Task Type" cannot be manipulated when these items are pushed to Salesforce.
How notes and tasks sync works
If you have a connection configured between Catalyst and Salesforce instances:
-
Tasks: All tasks in Catalysts will automatically sync to Salesforce only if it is marked as completed in Catalyst. Catalyst needs access to the following fields on the Salesforce activity object:
-
Subject = Catalyst Task - “title of task”
-
Assigned to = Assignee of task
-
Due date = Due date of task
-
Comment = Body of task
-
Complete date/time = Competed date/time
-
-
Notes: Each time a note is published in Catalyst, it will sync to Salesforce only if the Sync Note option is is selected.
The "Sync Note" selection is stored as a browser preference. Clearing your cache or using a new browser, incognito window, or new device can clear this setting. Be sure to check that this is selected when creating new notes.
Catalyst needs access to the following fields on the Salesforce activity object:-
Subject = Catalyst Note - “title of note”
-
Assigned to = Note creator
-
Due date = Date the note was published
-
Comment = Body of note

FAQs
Q: If Person A creates a note and it syncs to Salesforce as Activity XYZ1, will editing that note in Catalyst update Activity XYZ1 in Salesforce, or will it create a new activity?
