Home page and object levels

Who can use this feature?

  • All roles with access level "limited" or higher
  • Available on all plans

Use home and object levels to browse layouts and views. Layouts and views refer to the ways in which you can see data about accounts, contacts, and opportunities. 

  1. Layouts allow you to view and arrange groups of records (at the Home page level) or data within a single record (at the object level). Because of their visual and modular nature, layouts are often referred to as dashboards. You can create new layouts at Home or object levels.
  2. Views refer to a filtered layout (at the Home page level) or system tabs (at the object level).

Home page level

The Catalyst home page displays a variety of layouts (and applicable views), grouped into these sections for quick reference:

  • Company layouts: Home-level layouts added by an administrator for everyone to see
  • Favorite layouts: Home-level layouts added by each logged in user (i.e., my favorites)
  • All layouts: All home-level layouts added by everyone

Only layouts that have share permissions that are public or private to a named user are visible to you; administrators can see all layouts by all users.

Object level

Click into an account, opportunity, or contact record from anywhere in Catalyst—a segment, task, note, notification, or another layout or view. This is known as the object level, which provides insights into a single record. Layouts and views are grouped into the following sections:

  • Company layouts: Object-level layouts added by an administrator for everyone to see
  • Favorite layouts: Object-level layouts added by each logged in user (i.e., my favorites)
  • Customer hub: A reserved area to create unique account-level layouts that you can share with your customer contacts.
  • Default views: System arrangements of data related to the object
  • All Layouts: All object-level layouts added by everyone

The last view or layout you visited will be used the next time you click into an object record. Only layouts that have share permissions that are public or private to a named user are visible to you; administrators can see all layouts by all users.

Default views

At the object level, the following tabs are available:

View Account Opportunity Contact
Customer Journey
Monitor progress for how the object has performed within your defined customer journey stages. View plays triggered on the stage, and manage tasks and emails directly from this view (or as a customer journey module on the layout)
 
Notes
View a list of notes related to the object
Tasks
View a list of tasks related to the object
Goals
View a list of goals related to the object
Activity
View a stream of recent changes on notes, tasks, field data, Salesforce emails, and playbook emails
Opportunities
View opportunities related to the account or add new opportunities
   
Contacts
View contacts related to the account or add new accounts
   
Contacts
View contacts related to the account or add new accounts
   
Calls
View a list of call records related to the account
   
Additional objects
View a list of other items from additional Salesforce objects (as applicable)
   
Jira issues
View a list of Jira issues related to the account (if available)
   
Zendesk tickets
View a list of Zendesk tickets related to the object (if available). Click into tickets to see details and comment on the activity stream on any ticket within Catalyst.
