Who can use this feature?
- All roles with access level "standard" or higher
- Available on all plans
Within segments, you can click inside a field within a single record to update the value on the fly. Bulk edit, on the other hand, allows you to update the value of a field in multiple records. For example:
- Change the ownership of all accounts from one CSM to another.
- Adjust the journey stage or segment size for many accounts when criteria changes.
- Update the last engaged date for many contacts that attended a recent marketing event.
Bulk edit a selection of records
You can update records in bulk from the Explore Data page or from a segment.
- From the Data sidebar, navigate to the Explore Data page, or open an existing segment.
- Choose the object for the types of records you want to update.
- Click the options (...) button, and click Use Multi-Select.
Next to each record in the list, open checkboxes are now available to toggle individually or by clicking the checkbox next to the object. - Select the records you want to update. The number of records selected appears at the top of the page.
Only records shown in the current page view are available to select. Expand your page record threshold to select more than 25 rows at a time (maximum 100).
- Click Bulk Edit.
- Within the Bulk Edit screen, multi-select the field(s) that you want to update across all records in the selection, and then click Next.
- Choose the new value to use for the selected field(s), and click Next.
- Review the summary of changes. When ready, click Save Changes.
The selected record(s) will immediately apply the field update.In the event of Salesforce field validation errors, you'll see a red “X” icon as the update is attempted. The affected field(s) will not apply the update.
