As part of our 2023 Q1 release, we announced that Calculated Fields has been turned on for all customers. The use cases are vast, and you can learn more about them here. Thank you to all of you for your feedback, your requests, and your patience. We also released Account Trends, which allows you to chart any metric over time on an account layout.
With the release of these two features, we have decided to sunset the Success Metrics feature. Starting Q1 2024, Catalyst will migrate all of our customers' Success Metrics data to Calculated Fields, re-create the charts using Account Trends, and remove both the Success Metrics and Product Adoption tab from the product entirely.
Why are we sunsetting Success Metrics?
Success Metrics represented our initial vision of how to represent product and usage data within Catalyst. However, it has become clear to us that it wasn’t enough. With the increase of data needs we’ve heard from our customers, we needed a more general model of both data manipulation and visualization. We made the decision that, in order to build the best possible version of Calculated Fields, we needed to sacrifice backward-compatibility with Success Metrics.
Can I still use Success Metrics?
Yes! We will migrate any existing Success Metric into our new Rolling Calculated Fields over time. However, we won’t be adding any new functionality to Success Metrics or Product Adoption; we’ll be concentrating all of our roadmap investment on Calculated Fields.
If you have new data analysis requirements, we’d suggest you solve those with Calculated Fields instead of Success Metrics.
