An email integration for playbooks allows Catalyst to send emails via playbook actions.
Supported sender strategies
Catalyst provides the following sender strategies to choose from:
Use Catalyst Domain
- Emails will be sent from
success@email.catalystsoftware.io
. This is a Catalyst-managed domain for purposes of sending playbooks (not monitored). - If the user sending the email is John Smith, the "from" address will still be
success@email.catalystsoftware.io
. - The "reply-to" address will be the sender's actual email address (e.g.,
john@example.com
)
Use your organization’s domain
Before making this selection, please read the deliverability best practices from the Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group.
When selecting to use your organization’s domain, emails will be sent from a domain of your choice.
- If you use your company’s domain name, (e.g.,
example.com
), Catalyst uses the email address from your team’s user settings page as both the "from: and "reply-to" email addresses. For example, if the user sending the email is John Smith, the "from" and "reply-to" email will read,john@example.com
. - If a subdomain is used (e.g.,
@cs.example.com
), the "from" address will show the subdomain at the end of the email address. For example, if the subdomain is entered as@cs.example.com
, but the user’s email address isjohn@example.com
, the email "from" address will readjohn@cs.example.com
. The "reply-to" address will be John’s actual email address,john@example.com
, so when a customer replies to the email, the email will go straight to John’s email inbox.
Connect the integration
Once you connect the integration, you can use the email functionality in playbooks immediately.
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations tab.
- Locate the Email integration, and click + Add.
- Choose the sender strategy you want to use:
- Use Catalyst domain
- Use your organization's domain: Enter your subdomain.
- Click Save.
- Complete additional steps if using your organization's domain:
- Click the link to reach out to Catalyst Support. Provide the DNS host and your subdomain/domain name.
- Our Support team will provide the DNS records for you to pass to your IT team. Once your IT team has added the DNS records, respond to our Support team to verify your connection.
